On righting wrongs
I once wrote to Crayola to express my outrage regarding two different crayon colors that were exactly the same. They bought my silence with a personalized letter and a bunch of sweet, Crayola swag.

On her favorite packaging design
This is something that changes for me by the day. Method is certainly up there. Their packaging innovation, from the bottle structures to the minimalistic colors, graphics, and type treatments completely changed the way people looked at everyday home products. The packages simply “looked cool,” which got consumers to pay a higher price. That’s huge.

On becoming the coolest development designer ever
I’ve always had a passion for putting things together in a visually pleasing way. As a kid, I would use those generic publishing programs that came with my computer and create corporate identities for made-up businesses. I also arranged my crayons in perfect chromatic order. I grew up calling it Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but when I got to high school, I realized it was more commonly referred to as Graphic Design.

On her favorite color of the moment
Pantone 666 C, for sure.

On recharging
Pot of coffee by day. Tito’s vodka and soda by night.
